Key Take-Aways:

The TTArtisan 85mm T2.1 Dual-Bokeh is a manual-focus full-frame cine prime with a switch between Bubble Bokeh and Soft Bokeh modes, the longest lens of TTArtisan's 35mm, 50mm and 85mm set, sold in E, Z, RF and L mounts. In L-Mount it weighs around 792 g, is 99.1 mm long and 88.5 mm across the gear rings, with an 82 mm filter thread, 11 aperture blades, a T2.1 to T22 declicked aperture and a 0.8 mod gear pitch; its minimum focus distance is 0.6 m in Soft mode and 0.67 m in Bubble mode. TTArtisan's US store lists it at $380. As of Oct 2026, few reviews have been written and two videos are linked. Christopher Frost calls it a special effects lens rather than one for pixel peepers: it is rather soft at T2.1 and gets razor sharp from corner to corner at T5.6, with some purple chromatic aberration and a lot of flaring, while in either bokeh mode the image is flooded with spherical aberration at T2.1 and sharpens by T4; he finds no real distortion and gentle vignetting, notes focus breathing and that you must refocus after changing the bokeh mode, and sees it as a fit for budget video makers after a certain look. Anson & Co. likes its textured, organic, vintage look and good compression, sees little chromatic aberration for a budget cine lens, and notes some focus breathing and a focus shift when changing the bokeh; he finds it fairly soft with a lot of halation wide open, cleaner stopped down, and not the lens for corporate-style shoots, but puts his stamp of approval on it.

Specifications are from the spec table and the 85mm T2.1 size drawing on TTArtisan's page for the 35mm, 50mm and 85mm set, which has one column per focal length; the 85mm column and the L-Mount figures are used. TTArtisan publishes one set of figures for all mounts for the T2.1 to T22 aperture range, the 82 mm filter size and the 11 blades. Weight is TTArtisan's "around" 792 g for L-Mount. Length is the 99.1 mm L-Mount figure (C in the size table), rounded to 99 mm. The drawing gives 85 mm across the barrel and 88.5 mm across the focus and iris gear rings; diameter is 88.5 mm, the widest part. close_focus is the shorter of TTArtisan's two figures: 0.6 m in Soft mode (0.67 m in Bubble mode). TTArtisan publishes no maximum magnification, so that field is empty. The angle of view is TTArtisan's full-frame figure of 28.9 degrees, entered as 29. Weather sealing is not entered because TTArtisan makes no sealing claim. The price is the single-lens L-Mount price in TTArtisan's US store, with no crossed-out price. The product image is TTArtisan's picture of the 85mm lens in L-Mount.
