Key Take-Aways:

The Sirui Venus 50mm T2.9 Anamorphic is a manual-focus full-frame anamorphic cine prime. Sirui's page gives per-mount figures, and the L-Mount ones are entered: 1,048.6 g (1,049 g), 140 mm long and 88 mm across, with an 82 mm filter thread, a 0.75 m minimum focus distance, a maximum magnification of 1:12.83 in the vertical direction, 10 aperture blades and a T2.9 to T16 aperture range; Sirui makes no weather sealing claim. Sirui's US store lists the single-lens L-Mount selection at a regular, crossed-out price of $1,499, with a sale price of $299 beside it. As of Oct 2026, few reviews have been written and nine videos are linked. In his video description Neil Lopez calls it possibly the best value lens on the market for indie filmmakers, praising its true cinematic anamorphic look, sharp, clean optics and all-metal housing with geared rings. In his video Film Dude Jacob says he is pleased with the results of three shoots, finds the manual focus no problem with a small follow focus, and finds the minimum focus distance limiting for tight shots, the frame too wide for social clips, and the flares always blue. David Zhou's video, which covers the Venus 35mm, 50mm and 75mm, says in its description that the lenses feel like a cheat code for a more cinematic look. Kofi Yeboah's video title calls the lens great but adds a "BUT...". Nathan Elson's video chapters cover its design and build, how anamorphic works, the blue lens flare, and rig setup and conclusions. Luke Asper's chapters cover its build quality, ease of use and manual focus on a gimbal, and Daniel Grindrod's description says it is the first anamorphic lens he has tried and asks whether it can produce the cinematic look many people want.

From SIRUI:

> This lens features a 1.6 times squeeze factor. When shoot in 3:2, it will yield a 2.4:1 aspect ratio. When the sensor is set at 16:9, you'll end up with a much wider 2.8:1 aspect ratio, the viewing experience delivered by it is as premium and immersive as the IMAX format.
>
> As the third eye of shooters, 50mm focal length has an angle of view that is very close to human eyes. Featuring a 1.6 times squeeze factor, this 50mm lens can deliver a horizontal angle of view we'd expect from a 31mm regular lens and the super organic background blur, which help render your storytelling much more nuanced and engaging.
>
> This lens, with a squeeze factor of 1.6 times, produces oval bokeh in.a more pleasing shape than those lenses with 1.33 times squeeze, giving the footage extra expressiveness and aesthetics.
>
> Pointing a light source directly into this lens to get that signature blue lens flares anamorphic lenses are known for, adding a sprinkle of magic to your image.
>
> This model comes in native mount for RF, L, E, Z mount camera systems, compatible with such full frame cameras as Panasonic SIH, ED KOMODO,RED V-RAPTOR ST,Canno R5,C300, Sony FX3, Nikon Z6. As an inexpensive alternative to branded full frame anamorphic lenses, this lens is going to make anamorphics accessible to more people for more situations.

Specifications are from the image spec table on Sirui's page, which gives per-mount weight and length; the L-Mount figures are used (weight 1,048.6 g rounded to 1,049 g), and diameter is the 88 mm maximum diameter, equal to the focus ring. The 0.08 maximum magnification is the vertical 1:12.83 figure (the table also gives 1:20.42 horizontal). Sirui's page gives no diagonal angle of view, only the horizontal field of view of a 31mm spherical lens, so the field is left out. The price is the regular, crossed-out price of the 50mm / L variant; the page also sells it in sets with other Venus lenses. The product image is Sirui's picture of the E-mount version.
