Key Take-Aways:

The Sirui Venus 35mm T2.9 Anamorphic is a manual-focus full-frame anamorphic cine prime. Sirui's set page publishes one set of figures for all mounts (RF, L, E and Z), listing it at 929 g to 971 g, 117.7 mm to 121.1 mm long, 88 mm across the focus ring, with an 82 mm filter thread, a 0.9 m minimum focus distance, a maximum magnification of 1:22.87 in the vertical direction and a T2.9 to T16 aperture range; the lower end of each range is entered, and Sirui makes no weather sealing claim. Sirui's US store lists the single-lens L-Mount selection at a regular, crossed-out price of $1,499, with a sale price of $499 beside it. As of Oct 2026, few reviews have been written and three videos are linked. In his video description NO limits ON calls it a wide-angle lens with a lot of character, but with a long minimum focus distance and strong distortion. Anthony Gugliotta says in his video description that it might be the most cinematic lens he has used, and that Sirui sent him the lens without paying for the video. David Zhou's video, which covers the Venus 35mm, 50mm and 75mm, says in its description that the lenses feel like a cheat code for a more cinematic look, with anamorphic aspect ratios, bokeh and bold flares.

From SIRUI:

> The 35mm anamorphic is equivalent to the horizontal field of view of a FF 22mm, allowing more elements to be included into the frame, therefore suitable for shooting architectures, landscapes, and tight spaces.
>
> Designed for professional anamorphic use, this series gives you 1.6x more on the horizontal as well as more prominent anamorphic characteristics.
>
> When shooting 3:2, the lens offers a 2.4:1 aspect ratio.
>
> When using the lens on a 16:9 sensor, you end up with a much wider 2.8:1 aspect ratio, which gives you a lot of flexibility in post if you want to crop the footage to a 2.4:1.
>
> Hit the lens with a light source to create those cinematic blue lens flares.
>
> This lineup comes in RF, L, E, and Z-Mount, working perfectly on professional cinema cameras and popular FF mirrorless cameras.

Specifications are from the image spec table on Sirui's set page for the Venus 35mm and 100mm, which gives one set of figures for all mounts; weight (929 g to 971 g) and length (117.7 mm to 121.1 mm) are ranges with no mount named, so the lower end is used (length rounded to 118), diameter is the 88 mm focus ring, and the 0.04 maximum magnification is the vertical 1:22.87 figure (the table also gives 1:40.08 horizontal). Sirui's page gives no diagonal angle of view, only the horizontal field of view of a 22mm full-frame spherical lens, so the field is left out. The price is the regular, crossed-out price of the 35mm / L variant; the set page also sells the 100mm. The product image is Sirui's picture of the E-mount version.
