Description and Reviews
Key Take-Aways:
The Sirui Astra 100mm T1.8 Anamorphic is an autofocus full-frame anamorphic cine prime, the longest lens of Sirui’s Astra set of 50, 75 and 100mm lenses, sold in L, E and Z mounts with a blue or a neutral flare option. In L-Mount it weighs 705 g without lens cap, is 133 mm long and 80 mm across at the widest, with a 67 mm filter thread, a 0.7 m minimum focus distance, 13 aperture blades and a T1.8 to T22 aperture range; Sirui lists it as dustproof, dirt-resistant and raindrop-resistant. Sirui’s US store lists the single lens in L-Mount at $849. As of Oct 2026, few reviews have been written and seven videos are linked, each covering more than one lens of the set. Future Shock Studios says the 100mm takes things a step further than the 75mm, with stronger compression and more pronounced background separation, and recommends the set. HelloVSTV calls the 100mm the punchy one for compressed backgrounds and tight framing in his February video, and in his July video the lens for stronger background compression and for isolating subjects from further away. Brandon Washington, using the 100mm on a Nikon ZR, finds an ugly haloing wide open at T1.8 that goes away at T2.8, and calls the set a fantastic buy despite its quirks. David Zhou finds it soft wide open at T1.8, with a dramatic improvement by T2.8 and crisp sharpness by T4 and T5.6, and sees only minor focus breathing; he says the chaotic flares will be divisive. Bobby Tonelli found the 100mm autofocus pulsating a lot and calls the set entry-level anamorphic without a distinct character, while Benj Haisch calls the lenses really good, with really good autofocus, but lacking the character he hoped for.
From Sirui:
Most mirrorless cameras shoot in 16:9. With a 1.33x squeeze rratio, this lens directly restores the classic 2.4:1 widescreen cinematic look-no cropping, no pixel loss, delivering a high-resolution! Immersive image.
Fast, precise, and smooth autofocus system โ Provides stable and fluid focusing for both dynamic video shooting and portrait creation.
Use this T1.8 fast aperture lens to capture images featuring clear subject, soft bokeh and shallow depth of field.
Three focal lengths with similar sizes, and a weight of only about 600g-700g, making them portable and easy to switch quickly.
Two classic flares highlight the lens’ signature anamorphic character, revealing a distinctive cinematic.
Uniform color and tone across three focal lengths, enabling fast swapping and easier post-production.
Aspherical lens helps to reduce lens size and also show outstanding optical performance with sharpness and well-controlled distortion.
Dustproof, Dirt-Resistant, Raindrop-Resistant
67mm filter thread and 72mm outer diameter, compatible with commonly used filters.
Specifications are from the spec table on Sirui’s page for the Astra set, which has one column per focal length and gives weight and length per mount; the 100mm column and the L-Mount figures are used (weight excludes the lens cap; length is 133.2 mm rounded to 133 mm). Sirui publishes one set of figures for all mounts for the filter thread, minimum focus distance and aperture range. Diameter is the 80 mm maximum diameter that Sirui gives for the E and L mount versions (the focus ring; the outer diameter is 72 mm). Maximum magnification is the 1:7.5 vertical figure written as a decimal (0.133; the horizontal figure is 1:10.0). The angle of view is Sirui’s 32.3 degree diagonal figure, rounded to 32. Weather sealing is entered because Sirui’s page lists dustproof, dirt-resistant and raindrop-resistant protection. The price is the single-lens L-Mount price in Sirui’s US store, with no crossed-out price; the page also sells the three lenses as a $2,549 set. The page sells the lens with a blue or a neutral flare at the same price. The product image is Sirui’s picture of the 100mm lens, with the mount not specified.
