Key Take-Aways:

The Pergear 50mm f/1.4 Full Frame Manual Focus Lens is a compact manual-focus, all-metal full-frame 50mm with a clicked aperture ring, 6 elements in 6 groups, 12 aperture blades, a 52 mm filter thread, a 0.6 m focusing range, 66 by 43.5 mm and about 255 g, and Pergear sells it in L-mount among other mounts at a regular price of $129. As of Oct 2026, three written reviews and three videos are linked. Phillip Reeve (BastianK) praises the size and weight, sunstars and flare resistance when stopped down, but rates resolution and contrast at f/1.4 and the bokeh as average and finds flare at f/1.4 to f/2.8, field curvature, chromatic aberration, coma, strong focus shift and the 0.6 m minimum focus distance not good; he recommends it mainly to those who embrace flare for portraits. Radozhiva lists very good build quality, low cost, small size, a smooth focusing ring and nice bokeh as advantages, and a tight aperture ring, severe coma, mediocre close focus and a serious backlight flare problem as disadvantages, calling it primarily a creative lens. Ewen Bell finds it not super sharp wide open but not terrible, clean at f/2 with minimal vignetting, with a very smooth focus action and clicked aperture, and gives it two thumbs up for the price in his blog post. Andrei Dima's video presents it as an affordable manual-focus lens, a budget option for beginners and street photography that is also capable for video.

From Pergear:

> F1.4 Large Aperture
>
> A bright f/1.4 maximum aperture gathers ample light for confident low-light shooting and distinct subject separation. Out-of-focus regions dissolve into lush, creamy softness — a signature asset for portraiture and visual storytelling.

> 255g All-Metal Design
>
> Engineered entirely from metal yet weighing only 255g — a rare fusion of structural integrity and everyday portability. Its compact silhouette and 52mm filter thread make it an unobtrusive addition to any full-frame kit.

> AR Coating
>
> Multi-layer anti-reflective coating effectively suppresses flare and ghosting, preserving micro-contrast and colour fidelity even against strong backlight. Compose with the light — the lens holds its clarity.

> 6 Elements / 6 Groups · 12 Aperture Blades
>
> A symmetrical optical configuration of 6 elements in 6 groups delivers high transmission and natural rendering. The 12-blade aperture maintains an almost perfectly circular opening, ensuring consistent bokeh quality and beautifully defined sunstars.

> Diamond-Knurled Focus Ring
>
> The precision diamond-knurled focus ring provides exceptional grip and fluid, well-damped rotation. Fine focus adjustments become intuitive and accurate — even during fast-paced shooting — without ever needing to glance away from the viewfinder.

> Lens Parameters
>
> A 0.6m minimum focusing distance enables intimate close-ups, while the classic 46° angle of view closely mirrors natural human perspective — ideal for storytelling, street, and environmental portraiture.

Pergear publishes one set of figures for all mounts, so the size of 66 by 43.5 mm (length rounded to 44 mm) and the weight of "approx. 255 g" are not tied to L-mount. Pergear publishes no maximum magnification, so that field is empty. The price is Pergear's regular price of $129 for the L-Mounts selection; the store currently shows it crossed out and on sale at $119.
