Description and Reviews
Key Take-Aways:
The Meike FF Prime Cine Lens 85mm T2.1 is a manual-focus full-frame cine prime with a T2.1 maximum aperture, 11 iris blades, an 82 mm filter thread, an 85 cm minimum focus distance and a 30 degree diagonal field of view on full frame. Meike sells it for $998 in the L-mount selection. As of Oct 2026, one written review and four videos are linked. Newsshooter’s Matthew Allard calls it an impressive offering for its price and a good balance of price and performance, though far from optically perfect: fairly sharp wide open with softer edges that improve at T4 to T5.6, minimal visible chromatic aberration in real-world use, reasonably round bokeh without onion rings, and breathing that is present but reasonably well controlled. He did not like the flare, which is harsh against direct light sources, found the color slightly cool and Zeiss-like, and found the focus ring better than on the 35 mm. All four videos review the lens together with other Meike lenses. Humcrush Productions reviews the 24, 50 and 85 mm in one video and tests the 85 mm again in a later review of the 16 to 135 mm line, Spenser Sakurai reviews it within a set of the 24, 35, 50 and 85 mm lenses, and Tao Hudson reviews the 35, 50 and 85 mm, saying he has no affiliation with Meike.

Meike publishes the dimensions (ร89.6 mm ร 136.5 mm) for Sony E mount but not for L-mount, so the length of 137 mm is the Sony E figure; the diameter of 89.6 mm is the same for PL, EF, RF and Sony E. Meike publishes the weight as a range of 1078 to 1152 g without naming a mount; the 1078 g in the frontmatter is the lower end of that range.
