Description and Reviews

Key Take-Aways:

The Meike FF Prime Cine Lens 105mm T2.1 is a manual-focus full-frame cine prime with a T2.1 maximum aperture, 11 iris blades, an 82 mm filter thread, a 1 m minimum focus distance and a 24 degree diagonal field of view on full frame. Meike sells it for $998 in the L-mount selection. As of Oct 2026, one written review and one video are linked. Newsshooter’s Matthew Allard calls it an impressive offering given its low entry cost and far from optically perfect but a good balance of price and performance. He finds it nice and sharp wide open with edges that soften slightly and improve at T4 or T5.6, no real-world visible chromatic aberration, very little breathing, flare that is more interesting than on other Meike focal lengths with good contrast and no signs of veiling, and pleasing bokeh. He found the color neutral and slightly cooler, like many Zeiss lenses, and noted that the iris and focus rings do not have even tension throughout their range. Jason Morris titles his video “You NEED this is your kit!” and says in his description that Meike cine lenses are by far the best he has tried in this price range.

Meike publishes the dimensions (ร˜89.6 mm ร— 136.5 mm) for Sony E mount but not for L-mount, so the length of 137 mm is the Sony E figure; the diameter of 89.6 mm is the same for PL, EF, RF and Sony E. Meike publishes the weight as a range of 988 to 1046 g without naming a mount; the 988 g in the frontmatter is the lower end of that range.
