From Laowa:

> Offering the unique mixture of a long-reach telephoto field of view with greater-than-life-size macro capabilities, the Venus Optics Laowa 180mm f/4.5 1.5x Ultra-Macro APO is built for capturing intricate details from both close-up and long distances. Designed primarily as a macro lens, this telephoto touts an impressive 1.5:1 maximum magnification to render close-up subjects larger than life-size. Minimum focusing distance of 11.8", along with a minimum working distance of 5.8", makes it easier to photograph moving subjects and offers more room to properly light your subjects.
>
> Complementing the ability to render subjects at close range and with a high magnification, this lens also features an apochromatic optical design that limits color fringing and maintains high clarity and detail for accurate and dynamic imagery at both close-up and long-range focusing distances. The useful 180mm focal length offers a narrow field of view that's suitable for portraits and distant subjects, as well as for homing in on small details from a comfortable working distance. The f/4.5 maximum aperture strikes a balance between brightness and portability; the lens is bright enough for handheld shooting in daylight conditions while still remaining portable and lightweight for travel.
