Description and Reviews
Key Take-Aways:
The Brightin Star 50mm f/1.05 is an affordable, very fast manual-focus prime for full-frame mirrorless with an all-metal body, a 15-blade aperture and no electronic contacts, so no EXIF data. Professional reviews praise the build, the smooth focus and aperture rings, acceptable centre sharpness wide open and pleasant bokeh and colour, and criticise strong spherochromatic aberration, poor backlit performance, light transmission closer to f/1.2 than f/1.05, no weather sealing and image quality that does not stand out from cheaper f/1.4 lenses.
From Brightin Star:
F1.05 super large aperture with a 50mm standard focal length, built for night scenes and portraits. A unique aperture ring design is seamlessly integrated with the lens, in a high-end aviation aluminium body with a CNC anodized process.
