Description and Reviews
Key Take-Aways:
The Blazar Beetle 45mm is a manual-focus, full-frame 1.33x anamorphic prime with a fixed T3.2 aperture and a 36x24mm image circle. Blazar lists it at 266 g, with a 0.46 m close focus and a 55 mm filter thread, and its built-in button rotates the squeeze 90° between horizontal and vertical. It costs $599. As of Oct 2026, few reviews have been written; the linked videos include Bobby Tonelli’s, which tests it for stills from portraits to street scenes. Anamorphic Cookbook says it is not quite made for photographers but is great for creative video, and Geoff Heith calls it way more fun than it has any right to be.
From Blazar:
Made for today’s creators, the Beetle is an ultra-compact full-frame anamorphic lens designed for both horizontal and vertical shooting. Its innovative built-in rotation button allows a quick 90° turn, letting you switch effortlessly between cinematic widescreen shots and vertical content for social platforms.
