Driving the lens is an STM stepper motor, which allows quick and quiet focusing performance.
To reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color neutrality, the 24mm f/1.8 AF lens employs three extra-low dispersion elements, two high-refraction elements, and two aspherical elements. An 11-blade diaphragm helps create pleasing background blur in the out-of-focus areas of your frame, creating a more flattering overall image.
