Key Take-Aways:

The 7Artisans MF 120mm T2.9 is a manual-focus full-frame 2x macro cine telephoto with a 21-degree angle of view, weather sealing, 1,034 g weight and a $549 price. Marc Alhadeff's Sony Alpha Blog review (Jul 2025) concludes it is "an expensive average macro lens : it is heavy long, has average contrast wide open, only very good at T5.6 /T8 and not on the entire field", rates it "Not recommended" and names the Laowa 90mm F2.8 as a better option. Christopher Frost's April 2025 video description asks of this "super macro lens" with "a cine external design": "can its quality be any good?" The Sony Alpha Blog video (Jul 2025) is a sample video whose description links the written review.
